ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
i. Admission requirements shall be a minimum of 5 credit passes in English Language, Christian Religious Knowledge, Mathematics and any other two subjects from the following; History, English Literature, Government, Economics, French and Geography; obtained at not more than two sittings from Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), National Examination Council (NECO) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level (O/L) or its equivalent such as Teachers Grade II (TC II).
Direct Entry Requirements
i. Five O/L credits including Christian Religious Knowledge, English Language and any of the following qualifications:
a. A/Level with a total of at least 9 points
b. NCE with at least merits in three subjects including Religious Studies, that is Education/Religion but excluding Teaching Practice.
c. Diploma in Religious Studies from a recognized institution.
d. Advanced GCE
e. JUPEB
DURATION
To qualify for a Degree in Religious Studies, a andidate will normally spend a minimum period of four (4) academic sessions, except for Direct Entry candidates who will spend a minimum of three academic sessions.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
1. A student must pass all general courses with grade not below E in each except Long Essay which must be passed with a grade not below E.
2. A 4-year programme student shall complete an approved programme with a minimum of 120 credit hours before he can graduate. A grade E must be achieved to earn a credit in a course.
3. No 3-year Direct Entry student should have fewer than 90 credit hours to qualify for graduation.
4. The student’s workload shall be as stipulated by the Regulation. Minimum credit hour per student is 15, which the maximum is 24.
